Little House Quilt

As we round out the end of the year, I am looking forward to a wonderful celebration, the first wedding of one of my sons. It feels hard to imagine that 31 years ago that little newborn twin was barely fitting into his size 6-month outfits. Soon my second born, by one minute, will be standing under the chuppah and marrying the most incredible and wonderful partner ever. Lucky him…and lucky me for finally getting a daughter in the family! While I’m busy getting things together for the wedding, I am closing out the year with unfinished business as well.

I got a lovely surprise today when Cynthia of quiltingismorefunthanhousework.com posted one of my quilt tops as completed quilt finished for donation. I posted about this quilt on my blog last year. I wrote about how I put little people or animals in each window for fun. All the blue sky backgrounds are different. I even used my precious “starry starry night” fabric. I share the free house pattern on my blog so check it out if you’re interested.

Here below is how the quilt looks all done!

I love the swirly quilting which matches the Van Gogh starry night vibe. It has the Many Hands and Many Heart label on the back. What’s even better is that she backed it in flannel for extra coziness.

Cynthia is a rock star and even commented that she “always loves the bright colors” I use. I can’t think of a better way to end out the year than with a donation to a wonderful charity. Wishing everyone a wonderful holiday and a Happy New Year!

  1. That is a delightful quilt! I love the personality of each house. The Many Hands folks did a wonderful job finishing it, too. I also have a quilt top I’m planning to send off to them (as soon as the holiday craziness is over with). Meanwhile, congratulations on your son’s upcoming wedding! Enjoy every minute!
