  1. What a great job you are doing. I’m curious on the patterns you use for the clothes. By chance are you using patterns for the American Girl doll size? I think they are 18″ dolls. And, what cute little blankets that go with them. Wonderful work and I know it must feel to great to ship off a bunch of blankets and clothes to Amy.

    • Bonnie i’m so glad you asked about the doll clothes patterns. Yes they are patterns designed for 18” dolls like American Girl. I have found patterns in many places, but the best source is Pixiefaire.com where they compile lots of different brands and styles to select from. I do love making these and sometimes matching blankets for Amy. I know her work is incredibly important. It’s wonderful to watch her dolls in the arms of their recipients.

    • Thank you. I added the little key fob and real pockets from the original pattern. Thank you for noticing. Those little touches are what make me happy. I’ve always despised fake pockets so why not make real pockets for the dolls?? Thanks again for stopping by and leaving a lovely comment.

    • Thank you so much. I sometimes think scraps are better than actual yardage! Crazy me! I adore what Amy does and sewing for her is therapy as much as it’s my charity! I am very happy with the scraps on the heart quilt and will be making another one real soon!

    • Thanks Nancy. I love making those. It’s from a pattern for boys pants and I just add a ruffle to make them more feminine. When you see her dolls in them with little sneakers, you could just cry with happiness!

      • Those are adorable little doll quilts and the clothes to match are perfect! I used to send doll quilts to her, too, and had forgotten about that. I’ll have to look into doing that again!

      • Yes, when Bernie began a doll quilt drive, Amy was blessed with many donations. Reach out to her and I’m sure she would appreciate the support. XOXO
