Some doll boy clothing and even doll briefs

I’m off to the post office to mail a bunch of doll clothes.  Here are two things that make me smile…undies for dolls.  First, little briefs for boys.  Yes, I had to add the stitching to make them realistic.  I have fun colored elastic to make interesting undies.  The problem is that the pattern is still being tweeked.  These are for A Doll Like Me and those sizes are requiring me to make my own pattern.  This is round two of our prototypes.  Hopefully Amy will provide me with some feedback that tells me we are close.

For a girl doll.  I am in love with this ruffled elastic!

Then, here’s a sporty pair of long pants that are customized to fit the long legs of Amy’s dolls.  I added the cuff to make them more fun.  I hope that these fit well and don’t look too much like capris.  Time will tell.  I also made a pair of dinosaur doll shorts.  My own 5 boys never went into much of a dinosaur phase.  We did love watching Land Before Time though…every episode we could get our hands on!  I’m sure some boy out there will love these shorts on his doll.

Baseball doll pants.  I needed to make them longer to fit properly.  Adding a cuff was also a way to make them longer and fun.   I love how this blue fabric looks like denim from a distance.

I added two pockets to the back of the sport pants cause you know I have thing for them.  I was able to show a football and basketball on the back.

Dinosaur shorts because, why not?

And then there are some boys pj’s because, boys sometimes need dolls too.  Look at a previous post to find the pattern for these boys pj sets.  Note that the outfits are made to be reversible in the pattern, but I changed it up to save a little fabric.

Here’s a hilarious photo because the pants don’t match the top.  Yup, the pants that I meant to photograph have sea horses to match the sleeves.  You see, when you are dealing with so many little pieces of clothing, mistakes are bound to happen.

I’ve been making lots of boy doll clothes lately.  I may need to switch it up because….I’m planning to be fabric shopping at a discounted Liberty of London store real soon.  I can only imagine the stuff I will find…hopefully not too pricey.  I would love to make a liberty quilt if I find the time.  Their fabric is beyond soft.  It’s very girly too, so that’s my challenge in a family of all men!!  Oh well, perhaps I’ll make it just for me!
